3rd Place Winner of Qatar Sports Technology 2020 Hackathon
(LAEB - previously named TripleA)

Product Summary

Business Problem: Amateur football players use running tracking applications (Nike Running App, Strava, Adidas, etc.) on their smartwatches to track their performance during football games.

Why is that a problem? Running apps provide only feedback on running data, such as distance covered and speed. While football performance at the amateur level is judged based on different metrics such as goals scored, assists, defensive contributions, and more. These are the important metrics football players care about from their games.

Solution: A smartwatch football tracking application, allowing players to record their goals scored/assisted live during the game on the watch. Provide metrics and data insights relevant to football on the phone application such as heatmaps, performance nature (attacking or defensive), etc.

Product History:

The initial product called TripleA was a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that won the Qatar Sports Technology 2020 Hackathon. The MVP was built to analyze the data extracted from a Garmin Forerunner 35 running watch. The software was written in Python utilizing Jupyter Notebook to visually display the data in a graphical user interface to the user, in the form of graphs, charts, etc.

Upon selection and incubation under Qatar Sports Technology for the Entelaq (2021) program, I built, with a team of professionals (developers and UI/UX experts), an iOS native version built for the Apple Watch.

Laeb watch

I exited Laeb successfully as the product was sold in January 2023 to a Qatar-based company operating in the field of football analytics.
